Subject
Gallerium proudly invites you to the 4th edition of Valentine triple art opportunity in 2025, a celebration of one of the most profound human experiences: LOVE.
Love takes countless forms—romantic, platonic, selfless, or unspoken. Through art, these expressions transcend boundaries, becoming universal languages of connection and emotion.
Valentine 2025 calls on artists to delve into the depths of love and explore its endless manifestations. We encourage artists to reflect on the many dimensions of love and channel its essence into their creations. Whether capturing the quiet tenderness of a shared moment, the strength of enduring bonds, or the transformative journey of self-love, art has the power to inspire, connect, and heal. Let your unique vision and creative expression illuminate the beauty, complexity, and universality of love in all its forms.
Themes
For this art call, we invite you to explore a variety of themes and ideas, including but not limited to the following:
Romantic Love: The passion, intimacy, and tenderness shared between partners.
Create a tender portrait of a couple in an embrace, their hands intertwined, symbolizing unity and passion. Alternatively, a painting of a candlelit dinner table, where the warm glow reflects the quiet intimacy of love, can evoke a romantic atmosphere. A surreal approach might involve two figures whose hearts are literally connected by vibrant, flowing threads to represent the bond they share.
Friendship and Bonds: The unbreakable ties of trust and mutual admiration.
A vibrant depiction of two friends laughing together under a sunny sky, surrounded by shared memories. A mixed-media piece featuring overlapping hands, each painted in different colors and textures, could symbolize the diversity and strength of friendships. You could also portray a group of friends enjoying a shared moment, such as a game or a meal, to highlight the joy of connection.
Family and Heritage: Celebrating the love that roots us, from childhood memories to generational bonds.
Paint a warm family gathering around a dinner table, with subtle details reflecting cultural or generational traditions. A black-and-white composition of a parent holding their child’s hand might symbolize generational love and protection. Another idea could involve a tree with roots intertwined with family photos, representing heritage and unity.
Self-Love and Healing: The power of nurturing oneself and embracing self-worth.
A serene painting of a figure meditating amidst a tranquil landscape could embody self-reflection and inner peace. A bold, colorful abstract piece showing fragmented shapes coming together could symbolize healing and self-reconstruction. Alternatively, create a portrait of a person gazing at their reflection in a mirror, smiling, to signify acceptance and love for oneself.
Love for Nature and the World: A tribute to the beauty and awe of our surroundings.
A sprawling meadow filled with wildflowers bathed in sunlight could symbolize humanity’s connection to nature. A majestic mountain rising above a serene lake might evoke the awe and admiration we feel for the natural world. You could also explore themes of conservation by portraying endangered species in their habitats, emphasizing the importance of preserving what we love.
Abstract Interpretations: Unique, symbolic, or imaginative takes on the theme of love.
A swirling composition of colors and shapes that blend together to form a heart could symbolize the chaotic yet beautiful nature of love. A series of geometric patterns connected by golden threads might represent the interconnectedness of all forms of love. Alternatively, create a piece where love is represented by light or energy radiating outward, touching everything in its path.
All abstract and representational expressions of the topics in any 2D and 3D medium are welcome.
