A face can reveal what words carefully hide. A gesture can hold tenderness, fear, longing, anger, desire, or joy. A field of color can create unease before we understand why, while an abstract form can awaken something strangely familiar. This is the territory of Emotions 2026, the 6th annual international group exhibition by Gallerium, opening August 27 and continuing through October 27, 2026.

Throughout the exhibition, emotion takes many visual forms. Faces emerge through paint, pencil, photography, texture, and abstraction, sometimes meeting us directly and sometimes turning inward. Bodies reach, embrace, resist, rest, or appear caught in private moments. Elsewhere, the figure disappears and feeling moves into color, line, texture, rhythm, and contrast.

What makes Emotions 2026 particularly interesting is how difficult these works are to reduce to simple emotional labels. Joy is not always bright. Sorrow is not always dark. Tenderness can contain tension, and beauty can coexist with unease. Portraits sit beside abstractions, photographs beside paintings, sculptures beside drawings and mixed-media works. Together, they reveal how differently something as universal as emotion can become visible through art.

As you move from one artwork to another, the question gradually changes from What was the artist feeling? to What does this make me feel? A stranger’s expression may remind you of someone familiar. A certain color may return you to a forgotten place. An image may comfort one visitor and unsettle another. We bring our own memories and experiences into every encounter, making the exhibition different for each person who enters it.

Visitors are also invited to become part of that exchange. You can rate artworks that resonate with you, leave comments, and share your thoughts, feelings, or interpretations. Participating artists can reply, turning an encounter with an artwork into a conversation between the person who created it and the person who experienced it.

Emotions 2026 asks for something increasingly rare: a little attention. Some works may speak immediately, while others may reveal themselves slowly. You might stop because of a face, a gesture, an unexpected color, a strange form, or simply a feeling you cannot explain. Among all these different expressions, there may be one artwork that meets you at exactly the right moment. You may not know the artist or share their story. You may interpret the work differently from everyone else. Yet something within it may still feel unmistakably familiar. Come to Emotions 2026 not to be told what to feel, but to discover what the art brings to the surface.
